Recently, I announced changes to Daily Deviations in this journal and I'm happy to say that the response has been favorable. To review, we have made the following changes:
a> The "3-month rule" is now the "6-month rule" meaning an artist cannot receive another DD if they have had one in the last 6 months.
b> Daily Deviation selectors are limited to a maximum of one selection per day. This has been put in place to focus on quality vs quantity.
The hard-coding of these new guidelines is now in place (special thanks to $ZombieCoder for that

Over the years, we've been proud to offer the opportunity to volunteer with deviantART. We believe that our volunteers play a crucial role in helping our community develop and grow in positive ways.
The Gallery Moderator (previously known as Gallery Director) and Message Network Admin (MN@) teams have become a much loved and appreciated role, with many volunteers proudly detailing their experience in applications to enter into successful careers with companies who all recognise the value of volunteering in such a vibrant and eclectic community. The Senior Photo Album would like your ideas! Send us your suggestions, deviations, and theme ideas so we can put them in a future feature article. Send a note to `cypher-neo with the Subject "Senior Photo Album Suggestion"

This issue of the Senior Photo Album features the theme "Thinking Outside the Box". Thinking outside the box (sometimes erroneously called "thinking out of the box") is to think differently, unconventionally or from a new perspective. This phrase often refers to novel or creative thinking. Certainly on deviantART we would expect that thinking outside of the box would make for some unique deviations!

^{I had a chance to interview our second deviant ~Keradwc by notes and was surprised at some of his answers. He generally doesn't think of his deviations as 'artwork', describing them instead as "photographs of people, and they in a large part determine what and how I photograph them." The inspiration for his Box project came from his models. The box project "started as a one-off intended to show how one can 'think outside the box' while being confined in a box, and it turned into a long-term project" (which he hopes to finish soon). We look forward to seeing more amazing out-of-box-in-box pictures from him.}

^{On the last question of the interview I asked if ~Keradwc could offer any tips for other photographers. He left me with this blurb which I wanted to include: "I recommend shooting all kinds of things until you find what you really enjoy, and then shoot a lot of that, reviewing the results and trying to see what is missing, could be improved, or could be removed, and keeping those things in mind the next time they shoot."}
